UNC [Universal Naming Convention]

UNC का Full-Form होता है “Universal Naming Convention,” UNC एक filename format होता है जिसका इस्तमाल होता है files, folders, और resources की location को specify करने के लिए वो भी एक local-area network (LAN) में.

एक File की UNC address कुछ इस प्रकार से दिखाई पड़ेगी :
\\server-name\directory\filename

UNC का इस्तमाल peripheral devices को identify करने के लिए भी किया जा सकता है जिन्हें की network में shared किया गया हो, जिसमें शामिल होते हैं scanners और printers भी. ये प्रदान करता है प्रत्येक shared resource को एक unique address. जो की allow करता है operating systems को की वो support करें UNC (जैसे की Windows) को specific resources को जल्द से और efficiently access करने में.
